What Would You Do with an Extra 10 Hours Per Month?

Tell me if this sounds familiar: you have a great interview with a guest. Now it’s time to edit. You’re using software you’re still kind of learning. And this interview has a slightly different issue you haven’t seen before, so you’re watching YouTube videos on how to remove AC hum from your guest’s audio. You…

  • Why You Should Use Riverside to Record Your Podcast Instead of Zoom

It’s easier than ever to get good audio quality for your podcast…so why does yours sound bad? It’s probably because you, like many podcasters, are using Zoom to record the call and release it as is. But that’s NOT the way to do it.

Instead, you should use a tool that’s purpose-built for recording podcasts. Designed to take audio and video backups. Designed to make it sound like you’re both in the same room.

This will allow you to capture your audience to directly communicate with them. From there, you can further promote sponsors, sell products, or provide more benefits for your membership (along with providing real value, of course).

But you still need a good place for the mailing list sign-up form to live. There’s no way to add a form in Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or any podcast app.

No – You need a good landing page.

  • How Long Should my Podcast be?

Remember in high school when a teacher assigned you a paper and the first question was always, “how long does it have to be?” The most frustrating answer to a student looking to do the minimum amount of work was, “as long as it needs to be.” This is actually a good answer though. See, “how long” is the wrong target. A page number doesn’t make a good paper; fulfilling the requirements does. In other words: content is more important than length. The same exact thing is true for podcasts.
